He opened the doors of Montesi VW in 1964 after spending a dozen or so years in the automobile business working for other owners.  He began as a salesman at Cooley Chevrolet in 1953 and worked his way up through the ranks over the years, becoming a sales manager, then a general manager and eventually the owner of Montesi VW.  He and his wife Irene were born and have lived in the New Haven area for all of their lives.  Enzo joined the Marine Corps after high school. he graduated from Fairfield University in 1951.  Enzo is still a very active semi retired 80 something year old who still gets up at 5:00 in the morning everyday and when he's in town you can still see and feel his presence at the dealership.

Gary has been involved with the business since he was old enough to push a broom and wash a car.  Growing up with the business has allowed Gary to gain valuable experience in every department.  He has worked as a Parts Clerk, a Service Advisor, a Salesman, and Sales Manager prior to assuming the General Manager responsibilities.  He is a hands-on owner who's never hesitant to talk with any customer about any of their automotive concerns. He takes all calls (no screening process) and the sign on his office door says "Welcome!".

Marie has been with the company for ALL of its years in operation.  That's 44 and counting! She had worked with Enzo Montesi  at other dealerships prior to the opening of Montesi VW.  Because Enzo had the very good sense of recognizing the ability, dedication, and value that Marie could bring to his own dealership, he invited her along with a select few others to join his team way back in 1964. We're very proud to say that she is still a most important piece of what we believe is one of the best run dealerships throughout the state and country!

• Acquiring and hand selecting the pre-owned Volkswagen vehicles we have to offer.
• Knowing which vehicles will give the best service and the most return on your investment (each is checked and backed with qualified histories from Carfax. Then following through a 112 point inspection by only Volkswagen factory trained certified technicians).
• Marketing: researching current market values, knowing the competition is the key.
• Getting exposure for these vehicles online.  To market them the largest and best educated audience we've ever known in the industry via the internet!
• Pricing pre-owned vehicles competitively, often well below current market values.
